Orthodontics

Orthodontics - We offer a comprehensive orthodontic service. Dr Bruce Wilson is the longest serving orthodontic practitioner in the Manawatu region, and he's the only dentist in New Zealand qualified with the International Board of Orthodontics.

We place special emphasis on treating the whole face, fully developing the jaws and aligning the teeth without the need to remove teeth in most cases. Where possible, we believe in early treatment before all the permanent teeth are present to prevent problems from worsening. We also assess and treat functional factors of misalignment, like thumb sucking, mouth breathing and tongue thrust.

Sleep Studies & Snore Appliances

Research has shown that snoring is a potentially serious problem which may have long-term medical consequences. Additionally, sufferers from obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) are more likely to develop high blood pressure, heart attacks and stroke than the general populace. We provide a simple and non invasive home based sleep study service using the latest technology to ascertain the severity of your snoring. You will require an initial assessment which will take about 30 minutes, and complete a Snoring questionnaire and an Epworth Sleepiness Scale. Your sleep therapist will answer any questions and advise you on your next step and the options regarding the treatment of snoring/OSA. It is often useful for your partner to be present at the initial consultation.
